Yes, you can skip the security queues with Vienna Airport’s FastTrack service for approximately €11 per person. Book online at the Vienna Airport Shop or purchase on-site. Simply scan your digital ticket at the FastTrack entrance and use the dedicated security lane. Available at Terminals 1 and 3.

  • City Airport Train (CAT): Non-stop express service to Wien Mitte in 16 minutes. Operates every 30 minutes from 05:37-23:37 daily. Costs €14.90 one-way with spacious seating and luggage space.
  • S-Bahn S7: Budget option taking 25-30 minutes to central stations. Costs €4.40 including Vienna public transport network access. More crowded with limited luggage space.
  • Vienna Airport Lines Bus: Direct connections for €4.50, operating every 30 minutes with multiple city routes.
  • Taxi: Official taxis available at designated ranks outside all terminals for door-to-door convenience.

No. The airport is located outside the Vienna core zone (“Kernzone” or Zone 100). If you have a 24/48/72-hour Vienna ticket, you must purchase a single zone supplement (approx. €2.00 – €2.40) to cover the extension from the city limits to the airport.

Vienna Airport has four terminal buildings with a connected layout. Terminals 1, 2, and 3 are physically connected, allowing you to walk between them without leaving the secure area. Terminal 1A is separate and primarily serves low-cost carriers, requiring you to exit and re-enter security for transfers.

The airport features five concourses (B, C, D, F, and G) distributed across terminals. Concourses B and C handle Schengen flights, while D, F, and G serve international destinations.

  • Terminal 1: Serves Oneworld and SkyTeam airlines (e.g., British Airways, KLM).
  • Terminal 1A: A standalone check-in facility for low-cost carriers (e.g., Ryanair, Wizz Air).
  • Terminal 2: Currently serves primarily as a centralized security and access point for Gates C and D.
  • Terminal 3: The newest facility, hosting Austrian Airlines and Star Alliance partners.

Every vehicle gets one free 10-minute drop-off period per day. Additional dropoffs will incur a charge.

It is generally considered do-able, but tight. The airport advertises a minimum connection time of roughly 25-35 minutes. It is easier if staying within the Schengen zone (e.g., Frankfurt to Vienna to Rome). If transferring from Non-Schengen (e.g., USA) to Schengen, you must clear passport control, which adds time

Live data: For the majority of the airports we track we use live data from the airport. For the remaining airports we provide an estimate, and we communicate that it’s a best-guess only.

Search: By airport name, IATA code, city, county, country or region. To save you time, we keep your last visited airports on the front page. If you can’t find an airport, contact us using the contact form and we will look to add it. 

Current average wait time: The airport’s latest average security, passport control or customs queue wait time. If the airport has multiple queues, we display the average of them. If you want a more granular view that includes wait times for individual queues, take a look at the terminal level wait times. We regularly update each airport’s data,  but make sure you click the “i” icon to check when the last update was made.

Terminal level wait times: The latest security or customs queue wait time for individual terminals. Click on the terminal to access more information at the terminal level. Please note that this data is not available for all airports. We are working to expand this functionality to as many airports as possible.

Historical wait times: The typical wait time on different days and times over the past 2 weeks. Click the filter at the top right of the graph to cycle through the days of the week.

This feature is only available for airports where Qsensor does not automatically track data. Our sources for wait time data vary and may include air travel data aggregators, federal agencies such as the TSA, CATSA CBP, or information from the airport and its affiliated service providers. For some airports, Qsensor utilises its proprietary queue modelling technology to project wait times. Additionally, we crowdsource data from passengers that have inputted their wait time using the “Add Wait Time” button.

We regularly check queue times and flight delays for accuracy, however all times are estimates and waiting times and delays may not accurately reflect your experience. It is advisable to arrive at the airport well in advance and follow the recommendations of the airlines and airports.

There are a wide array of ways that queue data is measured. Including but not limited to looking at how long a passenger takes to get from scanning their boarding pass to exiting the security or customs area. Auditing passengers on how long it took them to pass through security or customs as well as Qsensors’ proprietary system for user added wait times. 

For airport wait times, we currently support over 110 airports worldwide. Whether it be London Heathrow, Istanbul, or Miami – we have got you covered. More are added all the time.
