    Airport Guide for Orlando International Airport (MCO)

    MCO is the primary commercial gateway to Central Florida, located approximately 6 miles southeast of Downtown Orlando. As the busiest airport in Florida and the ninth busiest in the United States, it served over 57.2 million passengers in 2024. Spanning 11,605 acres, it ranks as one of the largest commercial airports by land area in the nation. The airport’s layout is divided between the North Terminal Complex, which contains Terminals A and B, and the South Terminal Complex, which features the high-tech Terminal C. MCO also functions as a major intermodal hub, hosting the Brightline high-speed rail station that connects travelers directly to South Florida.

    Orlando International Airport FAQ

    MCO Reserve allows you to book a dedicated time slot for going through TSA security screening. The service is free of charge and doesn’t require CLEAR or TSA PreCheck. After reserving a slot online, you will receive a QR code to scan at a dedicated lane.

    The location of TSA security checkpoints at MCO varies by terminal:

    • Terminal A & B: TSA security checkpoints are located on Level 3.
    • Terminal C: TSA security checkpoints are located on Level 2.

    • Terminals A & B: Rideshare pickups are located on Level 2 (Baggage Claim). Between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., pickups are also permitted on Level 3 (Departures).
    • Terminal C: Pickups are located on Level 6 (Arrivals).

    Yes, SunPass and E-PASS can be used for payment in Garages A, B, and C by entering and exiting through specially marked lanes. However, these passes cannot be used if you have pre-booked a “Reserved Parking” space online, as those reservations require payment via a major credit card at the time of booking.

    The most common method is the Terminal Link Automated People Mover (APM), a 4-minute scenic ride that connects the Train Station/Terminal C complex to the North Terminal (A & B). A shuttle bus also operates 24 hours a day between Terminal C (Level 1, Space C272) and Terminal B (Level 1, Space B16).

    Note: The APM is going through significant upgrades, which will be completed by the end of 2027. Until then, passengers should expect minor disruptions to the service.

    Terminal C is a bags first facility for international arrivals, meaning passengers claim their checked luggage from the carousel before proceeding to passport control and customs. This differs from Terminals A and B, where passengers typically clear immigration before reclaiming their bags.

    For those with TSA PreCheck, the normal operating hours are from 4:00 A.M to 8:30 P.M.

    The Brightline Orlando Station is located within the 1.3 million-square-foot Intermodal Terminal, which is directly connected to Terminal C via an enclosed walkway. Passengers in Terminals A and B can reach the station using the Terminal Link APM.

    Live data: For the majority of the airports we track we use live data from the airport. For the remaining airports we provide an estimate, and we communicate that it’s a best-guess only.

    Search: By airport name, IATA code, city, county, country or region. To save you time, we keep your last visited airports on the front page. If you can’t find an airport, contact us using the contact form and we will look to add it. 

    Current average wait time: The airport’s latest average security, passport control or customs queue wait time. If the airport has multiple queues, we display the average of them. If you want a more granular view that includes wait times for individual queues, take a look at the terminal level wait times. We regularly update each airport’s data,  but make sure you click the “i” icon to check when the last update was made.

    Terminal level wait times: The latest security or customs queue wait time for individual terminals. Click on the terminal to access more information at the terminal level. Please note that this data is not available for all airports. We are working to expand this functionality to as many airports as possible.

    Historical wait times: The typical wait time on different days and times over the past 2 weeks. Click the filter at the top right of the graph to cycle through the days of the week.

    Add a security or customs queue wait time: How was your airport security experience? Contribute to the community by inputting your wait time. This feature is only available for airports where Qsensor does not automatically track data. To add a wait time, simply click the “Add Your Time” button on the airports page and follow the instructions.

    Our sources for wait time data vary and may include air travel data aggregators, federal agencies such as the TSA, CATSA CBP, or information from the airport and its affiliated service providers. For some airports, Qsensor utilises its proprietary queue modelling technology to project wait times. Additionally, we crowdsource data from passengers that have inputted their wait time using the “Add Wait Time” button.

    We regularly check queue times and flight delays for accuracy, however all times are estimates and waiting times and delays may not accurately reflect your experience. It is advisable to arrive at the airport well in advance and follow the recommendations of the airlines and airports.

    There are a wide array of ways that queue data is measured. Including but not limited to looking at how long a passenger takes to get from scanning their boarding pass to exiting the security or customs area. Auditing passengers on how long it took them to pass through security or customs as well as Qsensors’ proprietary system for user added wait times. 

    For airport wait times, we currently support over 110 airports worldwide. Whether it be London Heathrow, Istanbul, or Miami – we have got you covered. More are added all the time.
