Boston Logan Airport Guide (BOS):

Logan Airport serves as the primary global gateway for Massachusetts and the New England region, connecting travelers to more than 100 domestic and international destinations. Located in East Boston just four miles from the city’s center, the airport is a major hub for Delta Air Lines and JetBlue and handles over 42 million passengers annually. Despite having the second-smallest physical footprint of the top 20 major American airports, it remains one of the nation’s busiest hubs, operating four passenger terminals (A, B, C, and E). Logan is also historically significant as the home of “Our Lady of the Airways,” the first airport chapel established in the United States.

Logan has four terminals: A, B, C, and E. Terminals B, C, and E are connected post-security by climate-controlled walkways, allowing you to transfer without re-clearing security. Walking between these secure terminals typically takes 3–5 minutes. Terminal A is isolated; to reach other terminals from A, you must exit security and use the free “Massport Shuttle” or walk landside via pedestrian bridges.

The Hilton Boston Logan is directly connected to Terminals A and E via an enclosed skybridge. Walking to Terminal A takes about 6–8 minutes, while reaching Terminal B takes approximately 8–12 minutes.

The RCC is located at 15 Transportation Way. You can reach it via free blue shuttle buses (Routes 22, 33, or 55) that stop at the lower level of every terminal every 5–6 minutes. While a sidewalk exists for a 10–12 minute walk from Terminal A, the shuttle is the most common option.

Standard daily rates in the Central and Terminal B garages are $42, while Economy parking is $32 per day. You can save significantly by making an Advance Parking Reservation at least 48 hours in advance, which offers a 10-20% discount.

The SL1 bus is free for all passengers traveling from Logan Airport to South Station (including a free transfer to the Red Line). However, standard MBTA fares apply when traveling from the city to the airport.

To manage congestion, ride-app pickups are centralized in airport garages:

  • Terminals A, C, and E: Central Parking Garage.
  • Terminal B: Level 2 of the Terminal B Parking Garage. Curbside pickup is strictly limited to passengers with documented accessibility needs.

Operates from early morning (4:00 AM) to late evening (11:00 PM), with half-hourly service to Braintree, Framingham, Woburn, and Back Bay.

Checkpoints generally open at 4:00 AM for Terminals A, B, and C, and at 4:30 AM for Terminal E. All terminals offer TSA PreCheck.

CLEAR is available in Terminals A, B, and E. TSA PreCheck Touchless ID (facial recognition) is now live in Terminals A, B, and E for eligible PreCheck members.

Beginning February 1, 2026, U.S. travelers aged 18+ must be REAL ID-compliant or provide a passport to board domestic flights. If you do not have a compliant ID after this date, you may pay a $45 fee to use the TSA ConfirmID verification service.

Live data: For the majority of the airports we track we use live data from the airport. For the remaining airports we provide a modelled projection, combined with crowdsourced data.

Search: By airport name, IATA code, city, county, country or region. To save you time, we keep your last visited airports on the front page. If you can’t find an airport, contact us using the contact form and we will look to add it. 

Current average wait time: The airport’s latest average security, passport control or customs queue wait time. If the airport has multiple queues, we display the average of them. If you want a more granular view that includes wait times for individual queues, take a look at the terminal level wait times. We regularly update each airport’s data,  but make sure you click the “i” icon to check when the last update was made.

Terminal level wait times: The latest security or customs queue wait time for individual terminals. Click on the terminal to access more information at the terminal level. Please note that this data is not available for all airports. We are working to expand this functionality to as many airports as possible.

Historical wait times: The typical wait time on different days and times over the past 2 weeks. Click the filter at the top right of the graph to cycle through the days of the week.

Our sources for wait time data vary and may include air travel data aggregators, federal agencies such as the TSA, CATSA CBP, or information from the airport and its affiliated service providers. For some airports, Qsensor utilises its proprietary queue modelling technology to project wait times. Additionally, we crowdsource data from passengers who have input their wait time using the “Add Your Time” button.

We regularly check queue times and flight delays for accuracy, however all times are estimates and waiting times and delays may not accurately reflect your experience. It is advisable to arrive at the airport well in advance and follow the recommendations of the airlines and airports.

Including but not limited to looking at how long a passenger takes to get from scanning their boarding pass to exiting the security or customs area. Auditing passengers on how long it took them to pass through security or customs as well as Qsensors’ proprietary system for user added wait times.
