Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (IATA: LIS), frequently referred to by locals as “Portela Airport,” is Portugal’s primary international gateway and a major European hub for flights connecting to Brazil and Africa. Unlike many major international hubs located far from the city, LIS is situated just 7km (4 miles) from the historic center of Lisbon, making it one of the few European airports located directly within city limits. This allows for rapid access to the city centre via the Metro (Red Line) or taxi in as little as 20 minutes.

Yes, you can purchase Fast Track from the official ANA website. The service costs 11 euros and is open between 5am and 11pm.

  • Terminal 1 (T1): Handles all arrivals and departures for legacy carriers (TAP Air Portugal, United, Lufthansa, British Airways, Emirates, etc.).
  • Terminal 2 (T2): A simplified departure-only terminal for low-cost carriers, specifically Ryanair, easyJet, Transavia, Wizz Air, and Norwegian.

Check your airline’s website for last-minute terminal changes, as some airlines occasionally switch terminals.

Note: All flights arrive at Terminal 1. If you land on Ryanair, you will be bussed to T1 Arrivals.

You must take the free green shuttle bus.

  • Location: The stop is curbside at T1 Departures.
  • Frequency: Every 10–20 minutes (24 hours a day). Time: The ride takes 3–10 minutes, but you should budget at least 20–30 minutes for the full transfer including waiting time.
  • Cost: the service is free and operates 24/7.

Warning: You cannot walk between terminals, and the Metro does not go to Terminal 2.

No. There is no airside connection between T1 and T2. If you land in T1 and have a connecting flight in T2 (e.g., arriving on TAP, departing on Ryanair), you must clear immigration, collect your bags, exit to the public area, take the shuttle to T2, and re-clear security. This requires a recommended buffer of 2 hours.

The official pickup location is P2, Level 2, arrivals level.

If you’re dropping off or picking up, you can use the airport’s “Kiss & Fly” parking zone. It is free of charge for up to 10 mintues and located at departures and arrivals.

It should cost between 10 and 15 euros. Always make sure the meter is turned on and you get a receipt or invoice at the end of your journey.

Yes, but not directly. The airport is on the Red Line (Linha Vermelha). To reach the historic center (Baixa/Chiado), you must transfer to the Green Line at Alameda station or the Blue Line at São Sebastião. You will need to purchase a “Navegante” card (€0.50) and load it with fare.

Note: The Metro operates from 6:30 AM to 1:00 AM.

Live data: For the majority of the airports we track we use live data from the airport. For the remaining airports we provide a modelled projection, combined with crowdsourced data.

Search: By airport name, IATA code, city, county, country or region. To save you time, we keep your last visited airports on the front page. If you can’t find an airport, contact us using the contact form and we will look to add it. 

Current average wait time: The airport’s latest average security, passport control or customs queue wait time. If the airport has multiple queues, we display the average of them. If you want a more granular view that includes wait times for individual queues, take a look at the terminal level wait times. We regularly update each airport’s data,  but make sure you click the “i” icon to check when the last update was made.

Terminal level wait times: The latest security or customs queue wait time for individual terminals. Click on the terminal to access more information at the terminal level. Please note that this data is not available for all airports. We are working to expand this functionality to as many airports as possible.

Historical wait times: The typical wait time on different days and times over the past 2 weeks. Click the filter at the top right of the graph to cycle through the days of the week.

Add a security or customs queue wait time: How was your airport security experience? Contribute to the community by inputting your wait time. This feature is only available for airports where Qsensor does not automatically track data. Our sources for wait time data vary and may include air travel data aggregators, federal agencies such as the TSA, CATSA CBP, or information from the airport and its affiliated service providers. For some airports, Qsensor utilises its proprietary queue modelling technology to project wait times. Additionally, we crowdsource data from passengers who have input their wait time using the “Add Your Time” button.

We regularly check queue times and flight delays for accuracy, however all times are estimates and waiting times and delays may not accurately reflect your experience. It is advisable to arrive at the airport well in advance and follow the recommendations of the airlines and airports.

There are a wide array of ways that queue data is measured. Including but not limited to looking at how long a passenger takes to get from scanning their boarding pass to exiting the security or customs area. Auditing passengers on how long it took them to pass through security or customs as well as Qsensors’ proprietary system for user added wait times. 

For airport wait times, we currently support over 140 airports worldwide. Whether it be London Heathrow, Istanbul, or Miami – we have got you covered. More are added all the time.
